HOW DO I START ELDERBERRY CUTTINGS?
Plant first thing in the spring.
Place cutting "angled cut side" down with bottom node buried about 3 inches below the soil. The top node must stick out above soil.
Keep soil sufficiently moist in well drained soil.
If starting in a pot, place in a greenhouse or near a window.
or
Place cuttings in water, set in a sunny window, when root hairs and/or leaflets begin, place into moist soil in a pot, and follow instructions above.
**It is possible to start cuttings in a greenhouse for transplanting in Spring for your area.
